Jesus Wields a Sword 24 × 36 inches | Acrylic with gold and silver leaf on gallery-wrapped canvas

In Jesus Wields a Sword, Christ stands with a steady, commanding gaze, holding a silver-leaf blade inscribed in Greek: “The Way, the Truth, and the Life.” The sword represents not earthly violence, but the penetrating power of divine truth—the Word that challenges, divides, and transforms.

Rich blue and crimson robes evoke traditional Christian iconography, while the gold-leaf halo and sword hilt contrast with the luminous silver blade. The garment is embellished with ancient symbols of faith, including the Ichthys, the Chi-Rho, Alpha and Omega, and crowns of thorns. Twelve fish honor the apostles, while seven thorn clusters recall spiritual completeness, sacrifice, and redemption.

By combining the solemn beauty of sacred icons with a strong contemporary presence, the painting portrays Christ as both Savior and sovereign—merciful, resolute, and unafraid to confront the viewer with the enduring force of truth.
